Adolescence

I was just a little heroine then.
No one ever gave me a glance.
Hair done up in ribbons
and me with my pipe cleaning lance.

My pride rested on three small animals;
A duck, a rabbit, and a bear.
I had to rescue my fellow comrades
from the Kitchen Dragon’s evil lair.

As I climbed Mount Counter
I came across a temple of plates.
And just beyond the Broom Bridge
was where I would find my fate.

Quickly I leaped and I jumped
to the dragon’s lair I crept.
He was hidden inside the closet
where the Broom Dragon often swept.

I charged with all my might.
I yelled with all my glory.
I saved my friends and defeated the beast
for I am the heroine of this story.
